The home of The Cleveland Indians is now officially “Progressive Field”. At first when I heard that, I felt a little disappointed. “The Jake’ had a nice ring to it, and much like how I still seem to call Quicken Loans Arena, “Gund Arena”, I suppose Jacob’s Field will always stick in my head. But after reading the press release and thinking a little more, it’s probably a good thing for Cleveland.
Progressive Insurance is a huge company and is Cleveland based. Since there’s not a whole heck of a lot of ‘Cleveland based Huge Companies‘ left these days, why not have one tied to one of the cities bright points, The Cleveland Indians. I don’t think I’m quite ready to see Cleveland Browns Stadium become “Sherwin-Williams Stadium” just yet, but the Progressive Field connection could work.
