Derek Anderson
DA resigned. Er… I mean, re-signed…

Nice quote by Fox Sports Alex Marvez… :

“In my book, the Anderson and Lewis re-signings as well as the trade to acquire Green Bay defensive tackle Corey Williams makes — gasp! — Cleveland the team to beat in the AFC North. “

Browns Pro Bowl
Shortly after the Super Bowl, Antonio Gates and Tom Brady have ducked out of this years Pro Bowl… Kellen Winslow and Derek Anderson are the replacements, making the total number of Browns going to Hawaii six! That, well…six more people going than every year since the Browns return to the league (they sent Jamir Miller in 99′…) Congrats! now I may have to actually watch the game…

Giants end the Pats Perfect Season in an Awesome Game!

Giants
That was awesome. What a game! The Giants pulled it out in the end and the ‘perfect season’ still belongs to the 72 Dolphins… Always gotta love it when the underdog pulls it out!

Congrats to Romeo!

Romeo Crennel

Thankfully the Browns are continuing their smart moves by hanging on to Romeo Crennel for a while longer. Now they just need to get Anderson and Jamal Lewis wrapped up! It was a great season and I think a lot has to do with keeping consistency on the Browns (for a change…). Keeping Romeo around helps solidify that. Heading into next year it looks like the Browns will be in great shape.Looks like the Ravens and Bengals will still be in shambles as well, so that’s always nice… Now if only that giant dork Worthless-boiger would stumble…

No More Trips to “The Jake”… Headed to “The Prog”?

observations, sports

Progressive FieldThe home of The Cleveland Indians is now officially “Progressive Field”. At first when I heard that, I felt a little disappointed. “The Jake’ had a nice ring to it, and much like how I still seem to call Quicken Loans Arena, “Gund Arena”, I suppose Jacob’s Field will always stick in my head. But after reading the press release and thinking a little more, it’s probably a good thing for Cleveland.

Progressive Insurance is a huge company and is Cleveland based. Since there’s not a whole heck of a lot of ‘Cleveland based Huge Companies‘ left these days, why not have one tied to one of the cities bright points, The Cleveland Indians. I don’t think I’m quite ready to see Cleveland Browns Stadium become “Sherwin-Williams Stadium” just yet, but the Progressive Field connection could work.

The Play of all plays. The one that put a lock on knocking the Steelers out of the Playoffs. Set lovingly to “Chariots of Fire” no less… Sorry Al, but this was pretty funny…

Here’s a little snippet I threw together after the thrill of yesterday’s insane snow game at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Sure it was freezing cold, windy as windy can be, and pretty much insanity out there, it was also incredibly exciting, a wild game and an experience like no other….
Plus, cap off the day with the Stoolers losing to the Jags, and Baltimore humiliated at the hands of the Dolphins!! What else can ya ask for on a Sunday in mid-December….

Below is some of the Love the Browns are getting in the press….
