A combination of 2 college nicknames that is too complicated and boring to go into. Nevertheless, consider me a mid-late 30's guy with a strange sense of the world. Part music and media junkie, part computer geek, part Dad and husband, part freak.
Along with just being the right thing to do (although I’ve been using Flock for the past week and am kinda hooked…), Firefox will try to break the Guiness World Record for most downloads in a day…
Wow. Another cool flash site, this time using the “galaxy” as a browsing mechanism. Type a keyword and you’re suddenly flying through “tagged” planets full of pictures. Swoop around with your mouse and click an image to see it bigger. Very slick! Check it HERE…
Here’s a 30 second impression of Netvibes so far… Really Freakin cool!!
I’ve been looking for some type of “in-browser’ solution to managing rss feeds, widgets, social sites, etc… The customizable options on here seem endless and I haven’t even begun to explore the widgets and social connectivity aspect of the site… Check it out…
Check out these demo videos from Immersive Media… These are the same people who did that ‘Street View’ thing for Google Maps, only now it’s interactive video (interactive in the sense that you can rotate around a 360 degree view of the action… Once the clip intro has loaded and the video starts, you’ll see you can click inside the video and drag your mouse around to rotate your view… This first one takes a few minutes to load and is a smattering of different environments… The second clip is similar to the ‘Street View’ thing as you travel down a road in Austin, Texas…
Wow, this one is pretty slick. Download this AddOn and browse images and videos in one of the slickest ways yet. It’s real snappy, very intuitive and highly addicting. The way it handles YouTube is real nice and the ability to search a nice number of image based sites is cool. Quickly scanning through hundreds of search results instead of hitting “next” over and over is also a plus…
This movie looks pretty hilarious. Too bad its not playing anywhere near here. Hafta wait for the DVD I s’pose… Quite an impressive cast. Looks like it could have the feel of ‘Best In Show’ or ‘Spinal Tap’, only the arena this time is the World of Poker… Quickie from the website synopsis… “The story is set in the world of professional poker and follows six players who reach the final table of the world’s second most famous high stakes tournament, the Grand Championship of Poker…. An eclectic cast brings together many of today’s top comedic actors; Woody Harrelson, David Cross, Dennis Farina, Cheryl Hines, Richard Kind and Chris Parnell. The film also stars award–winning comedian Ray Romano, the legendary German film director Werner Herzog and sitcom vet Gabe “Welcome Back Kotter” Kaplan.”
Nice new site from Adobe. Looks like things are sort of broken out into skillsets (i.e.- Designer, Videographer, Photographer, etc…). The content is a little spars so far, but the production value is real slick. Also, in conjunction with the recent release of Adobe Media Player, you can ’subscribe’ to particular ’shows’, much like a podcast, to get the latest and greatest informative episodes… Very cool…
Photoshop Express..
Well it looks pretty cool. Works pretty slick. Not full of bells and whistles like some others, but right off the bat, I liked how integrated it was with Facebook, Picassa and soon Flickr… You can do some pretty nice basic photo edits in no time. Uploading was a piece of cake. And it has some real nice gallery features as well. It’s fully a Flash/Flex app and I like that about it too… From what I’ve read, there’s like 2gb of free storage… So here’s my “quickie” gallery of photos… (Mostly stuff I had posted on my old blog…)…
If you’re a fan of ‘LOST‘ and have tried like mad to figure out just what is going on, here’s a cool ‘theory’ on what could explain a large amount of the shows mysteries. It’s a cool read, and the author is very adapt at pointing out that this is just a “theory” and that there are some holes in it (although from what I read those holes are few and far between…).
