iPhoneogenic.
So I’ve been slacking a bit on everything as of late… World around me has kept me busy for a few weeks (in good and bad ways)… One area I’ve dropped off a lot in is my little excursion into iPhoneography. But during some lunchtime browsing, I stumbled onto this fantastic site from Edgar Cuevas called IPHONEOGENIC…
There’s quite a few fantastic iPhoneography blogs, sites and “ographers” out there (lifeinLoFi, iPhoneography, eye’em, reservoirDan, etc…) and their resources in regards to highlighting new apps and connecting you to some amazing art is fantastic…
What caught my attention right away with ‘iponeogenic’ is the approach. Filled with many images, each post is a highlight of an iphoneographer out there, starting off with an interview… The questions are concise & relevant, and sprinkled nicely with the interviewee’s images…
Embedded in the interview however is what I found to be a fascinating addition; a visual/text breakdown of one of the iphoneographers favorite images, and their process and thoughts behind it, complete with images in steps along the way… This extra step really boosts the understanding behind the image, and this glimpse into the process not only accentuates the image, but I think helps give more credence to iPhoneography as an art form. It’s nice to see there are such wide and varied backgrounds to iPhoneographers out there (professional photographers and super amateurs alike…). Bottom line, check out this intriguing and inspirational site…
