spipmusic (A Music Blog) – Launched!

spipmusic

Just in case it slipped through the cracks last night, I launched my new music blog. I’m hoping a blog with a sense of focus (the thing spipasucci.com is seriously lacking) will help me generate better and more interesting content…

The impetus for the site is to bring back that sense of music sharing/discussion I used to have all the time in High School & College with friends… We’re all still connected through the interwebz, so hopefully this will bring some of that back… Anyone else who wants to follow along however, please feel free!

I hope this will give some friends some new stuff to listen to and will spur those friends and others to send stuff my way as well!

Working on a music blog….

observations, websites

Much like the title says, I’m working on a music blog… I know there are a million and 1 music blogs already, and mine will be another… Actually tho, I miss the old days of sharing / finding music through hanging with friends and someone helped me figure out that this idea of reconnecting with old friends via sharing music with them might be the way to go. Hope to launch this weekend after I get a few more posts in there and stuff (it needs some content ya know…)…

What does that mean for this blog? Prolly not much… This for now will be the same old mish mash of stuff… I think spipasucci mixes will still live here for now and I’m sure I’ll find some other drivel…

beerandclothing.

Some great stuff coming from the beerandclothing blog. Follow along as Ruthless spends some time in Hong Kong, documenting her ‘finds’ along the way (and apparently lots of nail polish and tights?)…

Spipasucci iPhoneography – For all that stuff coming from my phone….

So it’s been a little over a month now with Posterous as my main iphoneography site, and I must say I like how it’s working so far… I really like how easy it is to publish from the iPhone app and to autopost to Twitter & Facebook…

I am a little bummed that a ton of iPhoneography folks are on Tumblr. Not a knock on Tumblr, but I wish I could connect more easily with them. Posterous isn’t quite as much about connectivity as Tumblr seems to be. I do have a Tumblr site (Spip*mis*cel*la*ny), but I decided that was my random scrapps of meaninglessness site…

I’m hoping to ramp up my iPhone pics more in the coming months (I’ve been slacking on snapping lately)… Lots of great apps to play with tho, so expect iphoney-goodness to keep coming… Also, comments are always appreciated and if there’s any thoughts on it, I’ve considered reviewing apps as well. I’ve got a ton…

Art of the Title (Sequence)

Art of the Title.

Wow, what a fantastic site. Stumbled onto this while surfing for ideas for a title sequence to a little piece I’m working on at work. Incredibly deep, this site takes stunning title sequences from Movies and TV and dives into the process of their creation; be it through an interview with the creator or production company, audio or video snippets of the process, and in some cases detailed breakdowns of each step in the life of the project (see the Dexter sequence breakdown). Quite a site to get lost in and the depth of information and visuals is superb. Bookmark this, favorite it or “like” it NOW…

iPhoneogenic – Great Site for iPhoneographers…

iPhoneogenic.

So I’ve been slacking a bit on everything as of late… World around me has kept me busy for a few weeks (in good and bad ways)… One area I’ve dropped off a lot in is my little excursion into iPhoneography. But during some lunchtime browsing, I stumbled onto this fantastic site from Edgar Cuevas called IPHONEOGENIC

There’s quite a few fantastic iPhoneography blogs, sites and “ographers” out there (lifeinLoFi, iPhoneography, eye’em, reservoirDan, etc…) and their resources in regards to highlighting new apps and connecting you to some amazing art is fantastic…

What caught my attention right away with ‘iponeogenic’ is the approach. Filled with many images, each post is a highlight of an iphoneographer out there, starting off with an interview… The questions are concise & relevant, and sprinkled nicely with the interviewee’s images…

Embedded in the interview however is what I found to be a fascinating addition; a visual/text breakdown of one of the iphoneographers favorite images, and their process and thoughts behind it, complete with images in steps along the way… This extra step really boosts the understanding behind the image, and this glimpse into the process not only accentuates the image, but I think helps give more credence to iPhoneography as an art form. It’s nice to see there are such wide and varied backgrounds to iPhoneographers out there (professional photographers and super amateurs alike…). Bottom line, check out this intriguing and inspirational site…

The Black List | Witstream.

From the genius of Micheal Ian Black and Lisa Cohen, it’s like a constant dose of “the funny”. Basically taking the twitter feeds and some additional stuff from a fantastic collection of comedians, writers, etc, Witstream is a constant flow of hilarity and shenanigans and comments and blurbs and silly and hilarity (I said that already)… If you’re easily offended, have no sense of humor or don’t like “bad words”, please move on…

From the site:

Assembled at WitStream® is an exclusive group of established comedians, professional writers and all-around brilliant humorists. Read topical gems from the people who bring you Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Onion and more. Check in if you want to hear their take on the latest in celebrity shenanigans, political idiocy, or even their own daily lives, however mundane or extraordinary. Whatever’s happening now, this crew can see right through it and find something hilarious to say.
