Family Guy plus Star Wars = Hilarious

TV, VIDEO

I know this is quickly making the rounds everywhere but I just got to watch it and it is hilarious. Apparently Seth McFarlane got George Lucas’ blessing to make a Family Guy parody of Star Wars. This is just a 10 minute preview (of what i can only hope ends up being an hour long show). Highlights – Cleveland as R2D2, Stewie as Vader…both fantastic. The “Maybe you can show me you’re home Planet of Alderaan…ohhhhhh” line during the compactor scene had me busting up. Peter (Han)’s call to his Mom after they “won the battle”…

ADDITIONAL

I tweaked the link as the old one disappeared (i.e.- was pulled from YouTube). If this one is broken, try googling Star Wars Family Guy and you’ll no doubt find it!

Amazing Time to be a Cleveland Sports Fan!

LeBron Poster

I’m a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan. Always have been and always will be. But right now it couldn’t be more exciting to see what the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians are doing right now. Take last Thursday’s Game five eastern conference final game. Possibly the single best playoff performance by a player in NBA history! What team? The Cavs! LeBron was astounding and the buzz around town is exhilarating. Then just up the road, you’ve got the Tribe putting a wallop on the Tigers to gain some distance in the AL Central. They’re like the second best team in baseball right now. This, coupled with the twinge of hope after the Browns amazing draft and off-season acquisitions, and it couldn’t be a better time for Cleveland sports in general. Let’s see if the Cavs can close it out tonight at The “Q”! And maybe a Tribe sweep of the Tigers would sweeten the weekend just that much more…

Very Cool (and scary) Google Maps Feature…

technology

Google Street ViewWOWGoogle Street View–Part “this is so cool” and part “this is so scary…like invasion of privacy scary”… It is mostly however, cool. I have no idea how they were able (or who had the time) to photograph (in relatively high quality mind you) every street in New York City, San Francisco, and like 7 other cities. And not only just “A” photo, but full on panoramas from what appears to be every block of the aforementioned cities!
I wonder what will be next. Will they expand to more cities? Or will they get even closer to some sort of ‘Live’ look at things. At what point will people freak out and say, “Enough Google! Back off!” “You already know the entire contents of the web and all computers and everything…” I don’t want to sound like I’m bashing Google… I think most of their stuff is quite impressive. Gmail is very slick, Picassa is quite cool for a free Photo tool, and I always use Google maps over any other map service online. Not to be left out, there is the very impressive Google Earth!
But it does raise the question about when much information becomes too much information. Like I’ve previously posted, I’m really a huge fan of how integrated technology is into our society as a whole. Instant access is a nice nice thing…
