Anyone who has a daughter between the ages of like 5 and 15 probably had to do the same, and that is take their kid to see the Hannah Montana 3D Concert movie. I had really wanted to see this new 3D technology, and of course, might have preferred a better choice of viewing. Overall though, it was pretty cool. The 3D that is (well that and the fact that my daughter and all her friends had a blast…and it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the concert tickets for the real show a few months back…). Things were clear as day and none of the snafu’s of the old red/blue 3D technology. The audio mix was weird (her voice was pretty buried in the mix of the music), and since Hannah Montana is on at my house 24/7, I knew most of the songs (yipee!). There was a preview for a 3D adventure movie that looked really interesting and I know James cameron has something on the horizon so hopefully this Digital 3D will take off, cuz it’s pretty excellent… On the flip side, this is another example of Disney marketing genius (The “One Week Only” tag to get parents to scramble for sold out viewings… only to then release the movie for ‘extended viewing’ after the first week grosses a ton of cash…).

This is some hilarious stuff. This guy, Santeri Ojala, takes concert and video footage of “Guitar Gods” and overdubs his somewhat crappy guitar playing over top. The result is that chuckles soon ensue. The best ones I think are the Ozzy clip, the Iron Maiden and at the bottom of the page, the Yngwie Malmsteen.
